IP hider/faker advise.

I have been reading about IP fakers/hiders. I was wondering if they are really worth it and if they are which one is the best.

Well, from who are you trying to hide your IP from and why? Or are you trying to spoof someone else's IP? More information is needed before we can help you - if we can at all - this site does not allow members to assist in helping you do anything illegal.

"really worth it"? Depends what you are using it for, there are free ones out there that work fine for what they are for. Hotspot sheild for example is great for watching online content restricted to country codes
 
I cant afford to do anything illegal. I have too many professional licenses two of which are federally regulated. About the worst I do is watch streaming movies and tv shows on watchdontpay.com and surfthechannel.com

I was more or less just looking for internet security. Eliminating email spam at the source, ect. I also play a lot of video games and am active in public and private forums. I do not really like the idea of someone being able to see my *real* IP address. The easy solution is just stop going to these forums but when the community writes on them, its hard not to be on them (referring to World of Warcraft, and private guilds, and such.)

Only reason i had for changing for me is checking news from maybe another country. You can change the proxy in firefox.
Tools/option and advanced tab. settings, manual proxy (addr and port).
