iPad - Mailbox problem

My Hotmail account is available to my iPad and works fine. I have one niggle: Even though there are no messages in my Hotmail Inbox and no messages awaiting deletion in my "Trash", both show a "1", indicating "1 unread message".

The condition came up about two weeks ago and, despite retrieving and sending messages satisfactorily, the incorrect and unwanted "1" flag still remains both on the Inbox and Trash.

Why is this and how can I get rid of the erroneous two figure "1"s?

Try reloading your hotmail account and see what happens. This really isn't something that we can fix. Have you actually checked your hotmail account via a pc to check for unread messages?

Have checked Hotmail on pc and all OK. It is an iPad quirk which I had once before and it cleared by itself after a week or two. Will hope same happens this time - not worth reloading Hotmail yet.

Just wondered if any other iPad users had had similar prob and if they had managed to correct it without reloading.

For reference in case any other iPad user has this problem ...

PROBLEM SOLVED (without reloading Hotmail):

1. Go to "Settings" page and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars";
2. Select "Hotmail Account" and switch off the Mail slider;
3. Switch the Mail slider back on;
4. Come back out from above pages.

The annoying false "1 unread message" has now gone!
