iPhone remotely controls Windows/Mac with VNC

I was wondering if any of you have experience using VNC to remotely control your PC/Mac. Particularly with the PC, but not excluding the Mac feedbacks. I have several questions.

How stable is the connection?
Are there frequent disconnects?
What is the longest time you've stayed connected?
How many times have you experienced refresh rate problems?
Has it ever crashed your iPhone or PC/Mac?
Does it work if your PC/Mac is behind a router?

I am currently thinking of investing in an iPhone or a type of mobile device that would allow me to connect to my PC from a remote location. Any help or feedback would be much appreciated.

I use the Jaadu VNC application for the iPhone/iPod Touch which costs $24.99 and I'll answer your questions based on my experience with this application.

How stable is the connection? Pretty stable, I've never encountered disconnections
Are there frequent disconnects? Never been disconnected
What is the longest time you've stayed connected? Around 5 mins, I use VNC to check on my downloads and to send files on my desktop to my email
How many times have you experienced refresh rate problems?Hardly any tbh
Has it ever crashed your iPhone or PC/Mac? Nope
Does it work if your PC/Mac is behind a router? Yup
