iPod Problems

Hi,
I have a First Gen iPod Nano. When I connect it to a USB 2.0 port, it continuously says 'low battery, please wait'. When I connect it to a wall charger, it does charge.

But I want to sync music, and it acts like it does not connect. Do you think I need a new battery?

Thanks,
Mike

OK, reset the software (hold middle button + menu together)

If that doesn't work, go onto another computer and reinstall the ipod software.

Try that.

I reset it but none of the songs got deleted. It's supposed to get a fresh format isn't it? It still doesn't work when connected. When I unplug it from the usb, it just stays frozen on that low battery screen. Do I need a new battery?

i have the 1st Generation and had the problem once.

Now, reseting it will no delete the songs, plug it into another computer, install itunes and then reinstall the software on the ipod. This will delete the songs and will be a fresh IPOD.

OK, I'll tell the real story. I bought this off eBay for $9.99 so I could fix it and resell it.

OK, this is a new computer obviously. Where can I find the firmware/software? I already checked Google and Apple.

install itunes, connect the ipod in, then reload the software

In Itunes
Go under the ipod
Click restore, it will download the ipod software and install it.

To be honest.
I would rather go towards an iRiver or Zune.
I dont like iPods as they brake more than normal MP3 players as such.
Anyone agree..?

LMAO! I have a 30GB Zune. This one is gunna get fixed and be right back on eBay ASAP. It needs a new battery, right? I'll order it right now, I just wanted a backing to make sure that's what it needed.
