iPod sharing?

I just broke my ipod touch because I tried to watch a movie on it while brushing my teeth and it fell in the sink so now I have no iPod. However I want to share my dads iPod but keep my songs separate. He doesn't like most of my music so I don't want it to come on everytime he is listening to his music. I'm not sure how to keep it separate though. He has an iPod Classic 5th Gen.

I was thinking of going into iTunes on my user account and changing all the artists to "Kesava" so that all my songs will show up under one artist on the iPod. I thought that would make them separate so I just tell him not to listen to that artist and I know all my song names so it wouldn't be a problem not having the artist named properly.

But usually he listens to the songs by going through the song list, not selecting an artist and listening to a song by them. Do you know what I mean? Like it wouldnt work because all my songs would be mixed in.

So I am really not sure what to do... Is there some way I could like make a playlist of my songs and not have them in the main song list? This seems impossible. I really don't know what to do to get this to work.

Do you have any ideas on how I could separate my music?
Maybe through playlists or even the audiobook category? I don't know how the audiobook thing works so I don't know if thats possible but can anyone suggest something? Thanks

You could try using smart play lists to keep your music seperate and then just tell him to listen to the certain play list that has none of your music on it? Not sure if this would work just an idea.

Yeah thats not a bad idea. I'll just have 2 separate playlists.

If I can't find anything better I'll do that.

Any other ideas?

Also, does anyone know if you can actually turn an iPod classic off? Or does it just go to sleep? I mean you can turn the iPod touch off but I have never tried to do it with any of the other ipods.

Thanks
