iPod Touch 4 Camera - Some Questions

Well I'm looking into buying this new device and that is mainly because of the higher amount of RAM and processor speed compared to the iPod Touch 2g that I currently have. But I am also loving the built in camera + Mic. It captures 720p at 30 FPS and can take 'still' photos by taking on from from the video camera. Apparently it outputs at something like .7 mega pixels! So my question here is, can you actually see that it is bad? And if the video looks so nice, how are the photos so bad?

It doesn't take 'bad' pictures, they just aren't high resolution. This is only true for light outdoor areas of course. Indoor shots are pretty terrible as you can see.

That is also the full resolution of the pictures it takes. I had to jailbreak it and edit some code to get it to that resolution as well, normal it would only be 960 pixels wide (thats 1280)
