is this illegal?
if so, please feel free to give me another infraction for not knowing.

Copying my ipod songs to a folder or somewhere, to upload to another ipod

could be. that's just like P2P. But yet you can ask yourself "If I copy and paste this to my other hard drive, is THAT illegal?

i have another hardrive?
last time i checked i had one.

apple reccomended me one, but it was a trial and didnt work .

Just saying if you had 2 that its like saying you copyed a song from a C drive and then put it on a D drive. Of course that either way is just 1 computer which is represented as your i-pod. Now however if you put it on another i-pod you just gave someone else a song and now the singer just lost money and doing it like that is illegal yes.

well I'm not sure they can keep track of who bought what or if the buyer really still has the song or not. I dont have an MP3, but as long as they pay you 1 penny then your in legal terms, cuz its not "free".

hey dude....
you can stop trying to close this thread and get an infraction.
cause ur encouraging others to download illegal stuff.

wow, coming from an old timer, i thought ud have better info.

I did include "Illegal" and and if you charge them then it is considered "legal". That's why you can download songs "legally" for about 10 cents a song. Like Napster. They're a big one. I'm in no way meaning saying to do bad things. Forgive me, that was a small error on my my part. Mods, please excuse to confusion I may have caused and don't end the thread. Thank you.

Don't listen to him, he has no clue what he is talking about; what's new?
It is legal as long as that second ipod is yours.

yes.
they are both mine.
iam simply transferring all my ipod nano songs to my ipod video.
iam having trouble doing so though.

thanks

it says transferring library, then to music folder, then i have to transfer those to the purchase section, then to the new ipod.

will that work?
who knows

i said another ipod, correct.
its mine.
doesnt it make sense, that i upgraded to a better ipod, and i made threads asking if this is the one.

IIRC, you can do whatever you want with your music, make CDs, make copies, whatever, as long as you retain possession of every single copy. So yes, that is legal.
