so heres my situation. I'm running Vista Business and I've got 2GB of corsair DDR2800 RAM, an EVGA 8800GT, Foxconn 590 SLI mobo, sata hd, etc. before i was running a crappy Nvidia 6600. While gaming in Vista i would constantly recieve BSOD errors almost always saying "IRQL_NOT_EQUAL_OR_LESS." I thought my 6600 was cashing the crashes but today i just got my new 8800 and while playing Call of Duty it randomly decides to give me the blue screen of death, same error, again. this is ridiclous. i have run the automatic update for vista, updated drivers for everything and yet it still crashes. Anyone know how i can stop/prevent this error?

it usually means its a driver error. Umm it used to happen to me when i used to mount images w/ MAGICDISK. i know bought alcahol 120 so i use that. if the games ur playing are using a mounting program...dont use a mounting prog.

I got this error in the past...I originally thought it was an external HD I had installed problem...it might have been, might not have been, I couldn't get any pattern as to when it happened.

A reformat fixed it for me.
