irritating problem

hey all,
ok so here is my problem: a friend gave me a season of a tv show on dvd's and at present there are only two episodes per disc. when i ripped them onto my pc each disc (so two epidsodes) is only around 2-2.5GB but then when i import the files into my dvd authoring software (cyberlink powerproducer) the files for one disc add up to over 5GB so it won't even let me burn them onto another disc! any insight as to why this is so?

Hey! It's possible that one the original disc they used some type of compression, which is making the size smaller, but also making it harder for you to copy it!
