Is 1066mhz memory only supported for am2+ processors?

I have bought this type of memory http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143799 which is 1066mhz ddr2. I have an Athlon 64 installed (AM2). Will this not work? It says in the motherboard manual that whether the speed is supported or not depends on the cpu..... ????
