me and my mate having massive debate basically whats more faster to burn cd's/dvd's 1 drive or 2 i think 2 because you dont have to copy to h/d then visa versa

faster by not copying to the hard drive first, yes. Keep in mind two drives will consume more power.

That is called "copying on the fly" It is dangerous, with a high error rate, but I do it all the time without any problems.

yea, depending on what software you're using and how many copies you need to burn... so lets say you're burning one disc 2,000 times, two drives would take you 1-2 days whereas 1 drive would take you 2-4 days.
i do some burning, but not enough to buy two drives... so i only bought one. plus, blu-ray will be out soon so i figure ill pick a blu-ray burner up when they become affordable...

just curious... what do you consider affordable? the cheapest one i've found is 700 bucks...

depends on who you are and how badly you want it, they're definitely not affordable right now for me...

sony's ps3 is scheduled to come out november 17th and that comes built in with a blu-ray drive... i guess it should cost 400-500 so that'll be the most affordable one yet..

agreed... not for me either... as for the PS3, it retails for 500-600 dollars... and i don't know if i need one that bad...

But the PS3 has a Blu-Ray reader not burner. So that would make it alot cheaper.
I remember when DVD burners were AU$1000 lol my unncle had on of the first in Australia.
