Is 2011 a dead/abandoned socket?

A while back I posted a thread asking the same question, and many of you said intel was planning to release an Ivy Bridge-E line of processors, but were now at Haswell and nothing has come forward.

Is the 2011 socket dead?

Not yet no. It's a high-end socket as I'm sure you know which only the most expensvie Intel processors are released on.

Given that Ivy Bridge uses the same socket as Sandy Bridge, I assume that Ivy Bridge-E will use the same socket as Sandy Bridge-E.

Ivy-Bridge is coming....but with Haswell-E i think will be new socket time.
