im not sure if my computer has enough power from my CPU which is 420Watt

i have a ATI radeon 9800, Creative sound blaster, 1 gig ram, 2.1 AMD

everything was running smoothy untill i installed the creative sound blaster, after i installed this my computer started to crash every 15-2hours. the more programs i had running the quicker it would crash. do you think that i dont have enough power from my 420watt power supply? what should i upgrade to

thanks alot.

What brand is it, and how many amps are there on the 12V rail? It probably is made by a company like Powmax. Technically, 420 watts is enough, but since it is low quality, it isn't putting out anywhere near that.

yes i agree, although you wont see any problems with your system anyways, because your hardware only requires about 300W to work well. (under moderate load, with no overclocking)

Yea any PSU will be labeled 420 Watts but are they pushing that? no. You have to get a good brand to get that wattage. I have a RaidMax 400 PSU running P4 3.0 - 1 GB Ram - DVD - DVD RW - 5 Hard Drives - Front Creative Sound Drive and All the Fans and It runs great without problems.

my current powersupply is from the brand called purepower, i was looking at getting a new enermax is that a good company and how many watts should i get

how ever much i need to spend to get a good cpu, i was looking at getting a liberty enermax, i just dont know were to start. how much power i need exc
