Is 500w enough?

So I am looking at upgrading one of my towers I got for free off of a friend. Currently has a 500w power supply with an Intel Core i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz × 4 and a Nvidia 610 GT 1 GB of VRAM.

I am looking at upgrading the CPU to a Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz x4

It is a Cooler Master RS-500-PCAR-D3

Yeah it will be fine with that power supply, normally I use Corsair though in which case I'd recommend the CX500M or the CX550M since they're semi-modular, so good for reducing cable clutter.

Now that I am doing some looking around I might just refurbish this machine for my mom and build one from scratch, I was looking at Corsair PSU. Specifically the Cosiar CX750. Thanks for your guys help.

I would suggest getting a lower wattage higher quality Corsair unit in the RM or T series.
