i heard that the directx 10 was coming out soon!
i want to make my computer now and would it be a w.o.m to get the bfg 7800gtx? will it work on dx10?

also...
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817163107
this psu isnt good enough for the 7800gtx is it?...

gtx needs::: A minimum 400W system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26A or more)

the psu has
Output +3.3V@40A, +5V@45A, +12V1@16A, +12V2@15A, [email protected], [email protected]

and

Input Current 10A @ 115V, 5A @ 230V

it wont work will it..

Thats not the ONLY good PSU. Both of those PSU's that you listed are good. Antecs NeoPower line has excellent bang for your buck also.

And peronaly, yes, I think the 7800GTX is worth it, you can always be waiting for the next best thing.

Yeah, you can always be waiting for the next thing, although DX9 has been out a while. Still I would get it.

I heard dx-10 will not be backwards compatible... (performance reasons). Wouldnt this cause problems with software designed to run on dx-9?

Oh ya, that was HERE.

u really dont need to spend 100 dollars on a psu. they make plenty of good ones for less.

lingage?
i need at least 12v running at 30A for this card to work.

that link you gave me had another link on it about windows vista, october 2006...
im guessing directx10 will be around their too.
**** that, im not waiting a year.
i always decide to make a computer when something big is about to change:mad: :(

Lets say DX10 comes out on November 5th, 2005. It will be a while for video cards to incorperate that, its not light the day DX10 comes out there will be a DX10 card. Not to mention we dont know how much they would cost. So i would go with the 7800gtx.

mind telling me whare you go that information?
im running a currently OC'd 6800GT (wich consumes more power as a 7800GTX ), on a PSU with only 24Amp on the +12V rail.. so that definately not true. ;)

I may be completely wrong here but wouldn't nvidia or ati be able to incorporate DX10 into their drivers?

wtf, how much will that cost me?
512 ultra!, 600$$???
All video card prices are JACKED when they are released because they know they will get those hardcore gamer's money who want it first. Come christmas or around january, the prices should drop to around 450-500 I hope.
