i read that somewhere and just wanted a straight awnser. i want a gaming comp but i also want to do producing. (music, videos, etc) will be more on the gaming side tho.

if you go to tomshardware.com
it should give you a look at benchmark on CPU
you can see that C2D out run everything else

C2D is definitely KING of the HILL

AMD used to be a higher performance chip especially for gaming before the release of the Core 2 Duo, but times have change, and the Core 2 kicks a**. The article you read was probably from 5 or 6months ago.

How come no one reccomends the one that he had in his links, the evga mobo. Whats wrong with that one? Personally I would go with that board if I were going to build in the near future because of all it supports and offers.

Because there are boards that are less expensive that provide just as good performance. If buying an expensive motherboard forces you to cut back on other components, it is not worth buying.

The 680i is the best board for the C2D, however as Jet said, if it causes you to cut back on other components, you should look for a mid-ranged one.
