Is Chrome a raging piece of trash for you too?

As soon as I start Chrome the computer goes in the toilet. It becomes choppy as hell. First when I open Chrome the HDD starts making noises like crazy and the computer is unusable for 5 minutes until it stabilizes and then it is slow throughout as long as Chrome is running. Its always been like this with Crhome, for me, for years, regardless of updates or anything.

I have 30-40 tabs open in Chrome and in FFox I have 600+ tabs open with no effect on the computer's performance.

I can't imagine this is how Chrome works for everyone, otherwise no one would be using it, so why is this thing such a piece of shit for me?
 
How can someone have so many tabs open? Have you scanned for malware? You may have a bad browser add on in chrome but not in firefox. You may be bogging your system down, how much memory is installed?
 
The better question is, why do you have 40 tabs open? Firefox is known for it's memory leak, so I really doubt having 600 tabs doesn't have any effect.

Having said that, Chrome flies for me.

I have scanned for malware and removed what was found, but it made no difference.

I'll check the addons.

The memory is not the issue, because I can turn Fire Fox on and have 600+ tabs and it takes up 1600 MB of memory and everything is working fine, but as soon as I turn Chrome on, whether Fire fox is running concurrently or not, things become slow. First of all ti takes it like 5-10 minutes to start up and the whole time it is starting up my computer is SLOW.

I mean those standard busy noises, the kind the HDD makes when very busy.
