Is Dust-off used to get rid of dust in computers?

Personally I don't like using compressed air. I remove components and fans, then I use a soft brush to clean them. It does a better job too in my opinion.

Yeah you can use it for that. Or just a regular old air compressor like you'd use for inflating tires would work.

I also don't like to use these compressed air guns. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but it sometimes shoot a watery/steamy/something-y residue as well.

can of compressed air works fine. Office supply or anywhere else carries it. look for static free air, do not turn can side ways or upside down. liquid will come out and get on the components.

It's just compressed CO2 in a liquid state. It evaporates after it hits the components.

Usually whatever works. Compressed air is an option if you don't want to take the time to brush everything out, you can usually find a cheap air compressor that offsets the cost of buying a few cans. I've used the 'Ultra Duster' you had listed but it seems to run out fairly quickly.

(nearly) Any approach is better than allowing your system to be clogged with layers of dust. (Try not to use things that create static electricity like a vacuum cleaner).

You guys who are getting liquid to come out of compressed air cans just don't know how to use them. It says right on the can to use only upright.

Compressed air cans are perfectly fine, I use them all the time. The con of course is they are expensive and after a minute or so of use it gets too cold and the air pressure is useless.

Yes I agree that if you are going to use air cans that you need to use them correctly and carefully. I have opened a few computers where people have used air cans to clean them and found hair, dust and dirt have been forced inside the socket or under other heatsinks on the motherboard.
Its so easy just to use a soft brush on the heatsinks and on the inside of the case and after you are done, vacuum what has collected and the bottom of the case. This is also a much cheaper way of cleaning your computer.

Exactly. If you use them correctly you'll be fine.

They are expensive for what they are. They tend to be cheaper to buy in multi-packs now.

The problem with using a paintbrush is that you need to be careful of static - they're fine for dusting cases and things, but I would really careful about cleaning things like motherboards and GPUs with them.

Your PC is never going to be 100% dust free anyway, because when you turn it on after you have just cleaned it, it will suck all the dust back in - so clean it every now and then but don't get too crazy about having a spotless PC. They don't exist! ;)
