Is it just me?

Is anyone else a little unsettled about ATI's change in card names? Like the 4830 and the 4850, and 4870? Did they really need to change the naming scheme again? I was quite happy with names like 1800 pro or 1800 xt.

If they changed NVIDIA names then I'd probably care so if I had a ati then yes, I would care

Pretty much. The other way sounded so much cooler.

Yeah, I agree. But not so much with ATI's scheme of naming, but more nVidia's. 9800GT, 9800GTX, 9800GTX+... Lame.

Three 8800GTS'!?

All of their cards are just the same card, re-named...

I think it's to confuse people really. I find the safeest bet is to find the most expensive card from each is 99% of the time is best. But since when did the 9 series need to exist when the it was only a slightly modified 8 series?!

I'm wondering that too. The 9 series is almost identicle to the 8 series...it's messed up!
