ok, heres a interesting question. i have been on this site now about a month, and everything has been fine. but recently, like over the past 5 days, sometimes if my comuter is shut down and i start it back up, and try to come on computerforum.com, i open firefox, and my homepage comes up instantly. when i type in the comp forum address, it sometimes does not load, or takes like a minute to find the site. i have stopped the loading and tried to go to google or something to test my connection and google pops right up. so i type in www.computerforum.com again and it still takes a minute. ive updated firefox, and ive tried through aol which also does it sometimes. could it be my firewall? anyone know what it could be. My heart stopes everytime i cant get on this site. thanks in advance.
 
Sometimes the site is slow for me as well. I actually think that the site was "gone" for a few minutes last week. I typed in the URL and it came up with "www.computerforum.com does not exist" or whatever it says when the page is not available. I was so confused, so i re-typed it to make sure it was right. Same thing. Very odd. Now it's just a bit slow, but not terrible.
 
Same thing happened to me it said cannot find site and site does not exist. So I didnt let me get on for a couple days.
 
Never happened to me before, but these past few weeks..... well, its been bad. Look at my first post on the heavy metal vs. rap topic and see how long it is. Well, as soon as I was done typing it and I hit submit, the web site froze and I had to restart mozilla. I was mad to say the least.
 
ok, so its not just me. thx guys. i guess theyre working on the site or updating or something. at least we know its happening to a few of us and not just one person. :)
 
My advice, before you press submit, press ctrl + a and then ctrl + c.... if your browser times out... at least you still have what your wrote :D

(It has happened to me as well... there is a lot of traffic on forum's like this one and there are a number of things that could be causing the site to time out... might be on the host's side of things... I do not know.)

Definetly gonna do that from now on, I had to retypre the whole thing.
 
With Firefox and Opera, if i just go "Back" everything I have typed is still there. This works with all different types of forums, so I'm not sure if it's my doing or just a browser feature.
 
its happened to me to, once and a great while the site doesnt load at all, so i just refresh it and it loads, but it loads pretty slow compared to other sites. This happens at both my computers and at school.

I don't know about that, because I've been on another forum where if you type something in and then load another webpage my mistake and click back then everything has disappeared...So annoying

I dunno, maybe all the forums I go to are the same type lmao? But i know this doesn't work for xanga entries :(
 
I've had the same problem Just started today it's working fine now but earlier it was saying this page cannot be found ect.. and it didn't work in either IE or MFF, I thought it was just me.
 
There was another thread about this but it got deleted 10 minutes after its creation... Somebodys trying to hide something from us lol

lol,

and this and many other forums are built off of vBulletin, and i havent had problems with those.
