My computer has failed to boot and is hanging up on post code 39, which means "test DMA page registers" on the abit aa8xe post code list.
I have looked around and on some sites it says to replace DMA controller IC or replace motherboard.
Obviously I would prefter not to have to do the latter, but i have no idea what the controller IC is abbreviated from. I know what the Direct Memory access is and does, but i cant work out what it means by the IC. I assume it is part of the board itself, and cant really be replaced without buying a new MoBo.
What else could it be? A knackered GPU, soundcard or lan cards?
Thanks
Nick
