the question is... it is really worth it? and if so how much faster is the e6600 is.

oh btw my budget is goin to be around 200. so im open to suggestions if u guys have something better thn the e6600. thanks

oh btw im plannin to make this into a good-excellent gaming machine. hope to run crysis lol

There should be a noticeable difference, as there's an upgrade in CPU speed, bus speed and L2 cache.

However, are you planning to build a gaming machine ontop of the HP? And if you are, do factor in power consumption and heat generation.

If you're planning to play Crysis, I'd make sure you can upgrade your video card first, unless you already have a killer one.

oh i already got these covered. i have a 500watt power supplie laying around so i'll jsut use tat. and video card i'm getting a 8800gts or a 1950xt 512 mb. so the only problem remains is the cpu :P. as for heat generation...for now im just gonna go for fans. but i dont know i might just get liquid cooling later on.

oh yea i got the rams covered 2. the only thing im worrying. is window vista. i heard theres alot of bugs tat microsoft havent fix yet. and i dont really have a choice to select xp cause hp is being a dick and upgrade everything to vista

Vista is getting worked out. Many of the people I know with Vista aren't nearly as annoyed as some people believe.

I'd Say just go with the E6600 thats what I have and really games are gonna get better and that E4400 will be way behind while the E6600 will last another year or so with current games or future ones so instead of upgrading little by little get the good one know and start saving up for future quad cores.

From the link you posted on Crysis system requirements:

Note: In case you don't get it, this is obviously misinformation that's been posted by accident most likely. I'm only posting this for a laugh so please don't take it seriously. Apologies if you got excited by the misleading title :-)

lol, heheh
