It can be done, but I would be extremely careful. I use a Ubuntu live boot CD to manage my partitions. Ubuntu comes with GParted which will allow you to resize your partitions. It will also let you format any partition on your drive, so be careful.

K kfawcett New Member Sep 16, 2009 #5 Yes, it's safe. Here's a tutorial: http://www.nirmaltv.com/2009/05/12/how-to-resize-disk-partition-in-windows-7/ As stated previously it's always a good idea to backup, but if you're only increasing/decreasing the size of the partition you should be OK.
