hello, my friend wanted to change back to his old lcd screen from his current monitor. so he pluged it in and booted up his rig. windows would show on the monitor for about 2 seconds, then the whole screen would go completely blank, but the light on the monitor stays green (its on state). but when he tries it with another lcd, it works fine. is this becuase of the monitor? or wat else could be wrong here?

The monitor is old and doesn't support the resolution. Plug back in the LCD, lower the resolution to like a 640x480 or whatever you can and then plug in the monitor.

yea, id say thats it. if another lcd works, then its the lcd. lol, i mean thats common sense... id say hes right about the resolution.

ok welll i talked to my friend again and he said that he left the computer on the whole night with the monitor off. then in the morning he turned the monitor on and it just blacked out on it. like no grey glow, but reli a blacked out screen like if there was no power, but the status light is still on. yea, monitors busted. lol
