i was thinking seriously about getting a new gaming rig based on the new sandy brigde plateform, but was wondering if the extra $105 for the i7 2600k is worth it over the i5 2500k?

yeah, its for heavy gaming with some video editing/converting.do you think the PSU in the list will power two 570?

think this would be a good gaming rig?

i5 2500k or i7 2600k
MSI P67A-GD65
G-Skill Ripjaws X (2x4)@1600 6-8-6-24
GTX 570
SeaSonic 750w Gold

Fantastic rig, with either cpu :) Save the cash and get some more ram..

mate i think the rig already has 8GB (2x4), maybe use the extra cash for gtx 580?

do you think the extra performance that i get from the gtx580 is worth an extra $170 over the 570?

edit:i could get the gtx570 and just get a gt450 for PhysX?

yeah your right prob not worth the extra 170 bucks i always forget how expensice nvidia stuff can be.

there are going to be 6 and 8 core variants called sandy bridge ex on yet another socket lga2011 out near the end of this year and then ivy bridge is going to happen prob around ces 2012.

This is all reported to happen not necessarily completely accurate.
