is it worth buying 478MOBO nowadays

Im starting to collect info. regarding building PC, and im starting with MOBO, do you think its worth buying 478 MOBO nowadays coz pretty soon 478 will be a thing of the past, what would be a best MOBO and socket to use in this days. :)
 
I assume you mean Intel based motherboards? S775 is probably the way to go, but you'll want to wait for the 945/955 if you want dual core support as it doesn't look like the current 915/925s will support it.
 
Doesnt really matter much as 478 is, at the least, old-technology. (also I think he was referring to the architecture as a whole). S775 is definitely the way to go for Intel peeps :)

if you want one right now I'd say a 915 based (best cost vs performance), any brand (not ECS tho) otherwise wait a bit (should be around may) and some new ones will be released

When building a system I always start with what processer I want then I look for the board that I want.
