Is it worth it?

I am being continualy prompted to upgrade my relatively new Windows 8, to 8.1
Is it worth doing and what are the advantages and improvements I would get from going down that path.

First of all, its free, so there's no downside.

Much faster loading times, options to boot straight to desktop, and overall its better

It's the same as Service Pack 1 for Windows 7, pretty much.
It's just a big update, that fixes a lot of issues.
Even AMD stopped making drivers for Windows 8, it's only 8.1 now.

Yes you should do it, I don't know why you wouldn't. 8.1 turns Windows 8 into the OS it should have been from the start.

Yes do it. As others stated, it's like a service pack more than an actual new OS.

I would downgrade to windows 7. 8 Kinda sucks

No it doesn't. That's what I used to say, but when I reloaded my desktop I decided to go with 8.1. I installed Classic Shell and sometimes I forget I'm even running Windows 8.

Getting back to my original query I'll chuck in another dumb question.

Even though I am running Windows 8, I have Windows Live Mail and Classic 8 start, which made the change over from 7 a bit easier.

If I go with 8.1, will I have to re-install those 2 features or will everything stay unchanged.
