ALL PRICES ARE IN AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS!!!!!

So there's an AMD 3800+ Dual Core for $525, and an AMD 3500+ for $329.

Would it be worth the extra money to get the 3800? Would I see any real performance improvment.

I'll be using the computer mainly for web browing, games and transfering stuff from my VCR to PC/DVD.

Thanks for ay help.

a) Were are you getting these, the price looks too high
b) The X2 will be a superior chip, and depending on your graphics card (and the type of games you play) then you will see a performance increase in gaming.
c) As for all the other task you will be doing, any cpu will be fine

Seriously though, how much shold I be paying for them?
Well i can only go in US and UK prices,
US amd 3800 ~ $340
US amd 3500 ~ $225
UK amd 3800 ~ £220
UK amd 3500 ~ £170 (Oem £140)
hmm so i supose at an exchange rate of 2.06718 then its not too bad.

i found a currency converter and it said that $340 us dollars is approx. $448.94 aus dollars so it seems like a rip off.

that is right for australia our dollar kicks ass so it might be worth getting something from the us u could get a better deal, couldnt u get an fx processor like the fx53 fr about that price in the us
