Is my comp fried?????????

Hey, i was hoping you guys could help me...........
just now the pc next to me made a poping sound, then i could smell buring coming out the back, what is this all of a sudden just to blow?????????? :(
The pc has been working fine for like 3 yrs now..

does anyone know what this could be?

i haven't tried to turn it on yet.. going to give it a clean first..
 
I thought thats what it could be, but why now?
its been good for ages.. i have another one ill give it ago.....
 
Well you say your pc is 3 years old.....Well nothing lasts forever.

have you opened up the case and had a look?
 
yup, looks the same as it did when i looked like 6months ago.. you would think a pc bought new would last more than 3 yrs..
 
Theres nothing saying your whole pc is dead....Might just have been your Psu given up or something.

Ive had my Pc for over 3 years now and its still going....I did replace the Psu a few months ago due to an upgrade.
 
It's not uncommon for a power supply to die after three years... It's not uncommon for some to die in 6 months! There's no "set" time for most components to last. Typically if you get 3 to 5 trouble free years out of a computer, you'd doing pretty darn well.
