Is my computer 64 bit OS capable?

Hi I have this computer (I think it dates back to 2006) :

Lenovo ThinkCentre M52 Series Type 8215

I already upgraded the RAM to 4 gig on a 32 bit WinXP OS system (so its only seeing around 3)

I am upgrading the hard drive from 80 gig to 1.5 tetrabyte (thanks cromewell)

Everything is going really well. I have been doing research for hours now on upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit OS when I came across a notation that my processor must be 64 bit capable to do this.

1. Can someone check this for me as far as if my processor is 64 bit capable? I am willing to upgrade this if I need to.

2. Says I need 64 bit drivers for all hardware I have. I just started this part of my research but should that be a big deal? I mean they are probably out there somewhere right?

You'll need to post the exact model of the computer (still missing two numbers and a letter that correspond to the model), or the exact model of the processor. The processor is what determines if you can use a 64 bit operating system or not. As for the drivers, if the manufacture doesn't provide 64 bit drivers for your model, it's possible to find them, but much more difficult.

Your best bet is to get something like CPUz and simply see what processor it has and what it supports. However, from what I can see, pretty much any CPU it came with supports x64.

Hi

This is a site I was going to get drivers off but I see no 64 bit mentioned
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-60651

Here are original stats on the computer before I started upgrading things:
Original description: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 640 with HT Technology, 512MB, 80GB 7200RPM S-ATA HDD, PCI/PCIe Small Form Factor (2x3), Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, 16x DVD-ROM, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, POV, Windows XP Professional

I have a program (that I love lol) called Everest Home Edition. When I go into it it says this about my processor:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 GHz, 3192 MHz

Then it has a bunch of other information that I am not schooled enough to know what it means from "instruction set" down to "L2 Cache" if you need that.

Yeah, you're processor can definitely run a 64 bit OS. Looks like drivers are available for Vista 64bit, which would also work for Windows 7 64bit.
