Hi All, I think I may have an issue with my 7950 GTX grpahics card. I just powered the laptop up in the morning as you do, and I see weird patterns and shades of disstortion on my screen. I re-formatted my laptop (Dell XPS M1710) thinking it may help ressolve the issue, but sadly it didnt. I have tried to re-install the graphbics driver, but it seems to install it then it freezes my PC and makes it look even more disstorted.

Please see the print screens below and advise me if possible.

Your links don't work.

It sounds like it could be over-heating. That would cause artifacts.

In case you're wondering, what you're describing is called 'Artifacting' as it's producing 'Artifacts'. These are strange shapes, colours and / or patterns on your screen.

Check it's getting enough cooling, maybe look into getting a cooling pad for your laptop.

My graphics card is probably also artifacted but why does it work sometimes? My graphics card worked twice for 4 hours and than my screen goes black and I need to uninstall my nvidia drivers. Then I can work almost normally but is shows 'Artifacts'. Is it realy artifacted?

Thanks in advance!
