Is my graphics card on the way out?

Hi, my graphics card has been stuffing up lately, it still plays games and everything but whenever I look at a fully black picture or if there's any colour black in the game that I'm playing there's always little pixels of blue in it.

Does this mean my graphics card is on the way out?

does your monitor have a stuck pixel?

Have you tried a driver update?

If both of those are not the culprit, then yes artifacting is a bad sign

What kind of GPU is it? Whats the cooling system on it? What are the temps on it when it is artifacting? You could try updating your drivers that may be the problem.

If your GPU is quite recent, download ATI Tool.

Check the temperature isn't ridiculously high (Over 80*C idle)

Then click on Check for artifacts and let it run for a while, if artifacts (or dots) appear on the image then you should think about lowering the core and memory clock a small amount and checking again until they stop appearing. Check the temperature first though if possible.

What graphics card do you own though? So we can help more.

Thanks for the replys =]

Um its a 4870, I did a driver update restarted and everything didn't fix it.. Then it just magically fixed itself a few days back.. Weird.
