I've got the itch for a new laptop. My old one is ok,,,but gettin kinda beat up, and slowing down. I did just order 2 1gb stick's of ram for it though. I also put a 80gb hard drive in last year. What worries me is in the last month or so, the screen has went black when I hit a key. This has happened 3 time's now. I hate to put more money in it if it's going to crap out.

I really can't afford a new one, but I could make it happen if I had to. Credit card. :o It's just that I got the itch so bad after joing this forum.

It's a HP ZV 5000 series. The upgrade's will be the ram once it arrive's, and the 80gb hard drive. Would this thing be able to handle any gaming, or is it too old. Could I upgrade the cpu, or that's just a waste of money on this old of a machine. How about maybe putting in a 7200 rpm hard drive. What one would you guy's recomend. The rest of the spec's are in the link. Thank's for any input.

I'd personally keep using the old one until it totally quits working. I got my first laptop from my sister a couple of months ago, and it still works great. I added a 120gb external hard drive, logitech cordless mouse, and a cooling pad. I would like to upgrade to 1gb of ram. I was going to buy a new laptop with my tax return money, but decided not to. As long as my Sony keeps going I'll just use it.
