i don't know much about computers . i just use them to surf and pics/vids.
i just bought this desktop. my brother says its a few year old gaming machine.
anyway. i am wanting a dvi card for my new w/s monitor. i am told dvi is a must. i don't know if my M/B is pci-e compatible.

i may have the option of a HDMI monitor. what does this mean as far as performance goes ?

That's the chipset model, not the motherboard model.

here is a pic. there are 2 styles of, umm, what are they called ?
3 of one style, and 1 of the other.

i have a HP 22" monitor. i'm thinking i would like to keep it. but i would have to have a better input than the basic vga. it also has hdmi and usb, but no dvi.
my other option, is to get a HP 19" that has dvi.

Agp slot/brown The white ones are PCI. AGP cards are old but better than whats left of PCI cards.

thanx. i am finding that hdmi cards are not there. this is what my 22" monitor has. seeing as how this is a pretty nice monitor. there has to be a way to get a better picture on this monitor, with a new card and one of these ports.
