Is my MOBO dead?

I recently purchased some parts to put together a folding machine.

Skip to about an hour ago after I hooked everything up, I go to hit the power switch and nothing happens.

Heres what Ive tried - New PSU, Resetting the cpu and ram, different case for different jumpers, and unhooking everything but the cpu,ram and psu and still no power.

Its a MSI k8mm-v motherboard.

Any suggestions that i may have missed or is it DOA?

i wish ur mom was dead... jk... really sorry i have a problem with saying that to much...:o
and yea, i think it is ur mobo's problem... i think it was DOA, where did you buy it? they might give u a refund

You know it wouldnt be funny if my mom was dead =P, j/k

Anyways I just got it in the mail today from Newegg. How are they on RMA motherboards?

idk, my dad just got his in the mail today, we are putting his PC 2gether tomarrow, so, sofar i haven't had the misfortune of a doa mobo

Does your motherboard come with a little PCI bracket that has 4 LED's on it and extra USB ports? If so, hook that up... the LED indicators can give you a clue on to whats wrong with your system. Look at your manual to see what they are indicating.

Newegg doesnt refund mobo, you have to contact manufatcurer if it is the mobo.

I contacted msi about it.

Ive tried 4 different psus now. Any other suggestions before i pack it up, lol.

Before you installed the motherboard, did you use spacers? The motherboard might be shorting out on the case... however, im sure you did that :P

Maybe the button on the case if faulty?

If you tried everything, the motherboard must be faulty.

My guess, along with someone elses here, is the spacers. Hehe, but placing the switch jumper thingy on the wrong pins is a pretty common problem as well.

As for RMAs, newegg WILL take back the mobo(I think anything within 30 days). I returned a mobo once for a refund and got a 15% restocking fee -.- And it was a bad board...

The MB came preinstalled but I took it out to make sure and yeah i used a totally different case.

Ok so i gave up for a bit, went and played CS:S and came back to give it another try.

I tried one more PSU i had forgot about and it works, lol. Theres no way that I have 3 or 4 bad psus. Not when they work in other systems.

But either way it works now, lol.
