Is my motherboard compatible?

I have a DFI LanParty NF4 motherboard and I was wondering if i could replace my nvidia 7800gtx (PCIE) with an ATI 4870 HD (PCIE 2.0). I'm worried that my motherboard might not support PCIE 2.0

Well check or lookup the manufacture docs. If it doesn't say pcie 2.0, its not pcie 2.0. If that the case, get a new motherboard. You could get a good one for $30-50US off of newegg.com

If so, yes that video card will go with that motherboard.

As far as I know not any Nvidia chip boards with PCIe 1.0/1.0a and 1.1 slots didnt have any problems with PCIe 2.0 cards. Think it was some VIA and SIS chip boards that had problems with PCIe 1.0 and 1.0a slots. I,ve ran a 8800GT on a nForce 4 board.

You can use PCIE x16 2.0 card on PCIE x16 1.0 board

Yes, they're backwards compatible.
