Is my motherboard dead?

I have an ASUS M4A78 PLUS Motherboard (good brand in my opinion) and I think the PCIe 2.0 slot went out on me. The last thing I did was download a driver for a phone so I should put music on it.

Next, I rebooted and no display at all. There is power going to the system because my computer case LED lights are on and the hard drive is spinning.

I tried two different video cards and both PCIe slots...and still nothing!

I can't even get the BIOS on the screen. If I turn the moniter on then off, it just says "no signal".

What do you guys think...time to buy a new motherboard?

Thanks,

Try resetting the cmos by removing the battery along with the power cord from the power supply and then press the power button on the case a few times and then reconnect power and reinsert battery and try booting up.

Ok I did and still nothing. The computer sounds fine booting up, but just no video at all...very wierd:mad:

It has got to be that PCIe 2.0 slot. The CPU fan is spinning on the motherboard and everything.

Why would it just stop working like that?

looked up your motherboard on newegg and it seems that that whole line of boards has Raedon HD3000 or HD4200 onboard graphics. Pull your card and try the onboard graphics. Then if it boots, see if Asus carries any PCI 2.0 drivers for this board, update and retry.

I don't have onboard video.
