Is my motherboard going to slow me down?

Hey! - For you guys out there who really know what your doing- i have a question for u. I'm building a computer that i've wanted to build for a really long time and i'm trying to make sure it performs like i want. I bought a P4, 3.00GHz 800MHz processor, 512mb of RD PC800 memory, and an 8x video card. The motherboard i purchased however, is a pentium board that only runs at 533MHz FSB and only supports 4x on the video. My question is - How much is this discrepancy going to affect my computer? Is it bad enough that i should think about purchasing another motherboard, or is it not that serious. Would I be wasting my money?
Let me know what you guys think. thnx

Would I be wasting my money?
If you're running a board based on the 533spec and uses RDRAM, odds are that's a waste of money. You'll definitely be wasting the money on the 800MHz CPU when it'll be clocked at 533Mhz.

You're best off getting something based on the i865PE (something like the ASUS P4P800) chipset and popping in 1GB of DDR memory running DualChannel. You'll get a lot more bang (IMO) and a lot more bang-for-buck :)

Ok, thats what i thought, so i have another mobo lined up (i865PE chipset, like you suggested). Thnx for ur input.

Yeah I agree with Praetor, that would be your best bet. Just make sure if you want to utilize the dual channel memory they are the same brand/type/and capacity.

get P4P800 is a good idea, after u get tat , start savin up for a bit more upgrade ;) like tristan said , RAM then u can start thinkin bout video card

yeah try the P4P800S I had the same chip in there. runs at 800fsb lol.
If its a 533 chip, without OCing, the chip will run at 533 ... some of the parts will run at 800 but not the CPU :)
