is my MSI 870a-G54 really a 770?

hey guys, everytime i install my STI video card drivers, i notice this at the bottom listed under "other devices": "RX780". so i decided to do some research...turns out that RX780 is codename for the 770 as seen under here. (yes i know it's wikipedia, but still, it does have SOME reliable info)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_700_chipset_series#770

look for 770 and there you will see that the RX780 is code name for the 770 chipset. so does this mean my 870A-G54 is really a 770? or is that just an error on the CIM's part? thanks guys

Thats true. Really all that changes is the Southbridge. Since about all the Northbridge does is control the PCIe lanes. I have no idea why they dont incorporate the North and South into one chip. Plus it would eliminate the talk time between them.
