Sorry for alot of posts, this will be the last. I have an old non-working AMD athlon 1.0ghz, 256 sdram, 40gig etc... This was about 1-2 years when i knew nothing about computers, a friend of mind told me its good to vacuum your computer once in awhile, so thats what I did, I kept using a home vacuum to clean the inside of my computer and the more I did it the more my computer kept freezing. So now my computer hasn't been working for 2 years now and im guessing the static messed it up. I use use a vacuum to clean everywhere inside my pc, every little spot clean and also the PSU, I do it for about 3-5min everytime. My bro took the cdrom out and put it in his computer and it worked, i was wondering if anything else would work? Will the computer case still be usable? How about the CPU since its protected under the heatsink? will the heatsink and fan work?

Did you actually touch the vacuum to the PC? As low car said, ther only way to find out is to plug it in.

And you probably know this now, but the best way to clean it is to use an air duster.
