is office 365 free or not?

It looks like a lot of resellers are selling license for office 365 but at the same time I can use it with any free hotmail account

Are they different ? Is the free version only available for browser-based? It often takes many seconds for it to start and load the document with online browser-based version.

Office 365 is NOT free. You must be using the free on-line version of Office that is accessed via OneDrive.
