Is old printer and scanner compatible with my new computer?

I just purchased the HP Pavilion Elite HPE-350t from Costco. What I am wondering is if my Photosmart 8450 and my scanjet 3970 are going to be compatible. I don't want to try to use them if they are not.
This is my first post so please let me know if this is not enough information. Thank you.

Windows 7 has a built in driver for the photosmart printer, however, the scanjet is gonna be iffy. Hp only has a basic driver for the scanner and its only vista compatible. However, most vista drivers will work in windows 7, just pick the right version you have 32 for 64 bit.
