if a computer can run doom 3 and HL2 then it would definitely be able to run any game developed in the 1980s. and i may be wrong but in the 1980s i dont remember there being any games that would run on windows, unless youre talking about emulating.

they mean, if he plays 1980's games, thena 6800GT is major overkill. but he plays modern games, so the gfx card he picked is fine

well.. you can llok at it from a different way also.
i mean.. the newer games will get old once.. and then the 6800GT still will be able to run them. so it will last longer as a older one
