Hi all,
I have problem to install this SSD, I got this computer and this SSD together. I try to install windows 7 to the SSD, but it can't go through. It stop in different places, just can't finish install.

Is SSD plug and play like the other hard drives? I know you guys have ways to make it work better, but don't it at least work when it installed in the computer?

After I can't install windows on it, I format it and copy some files on it to see if I got a bad drive, but files are copies and played(video files) so I am asume the drive is good.

Is the drive have to put it on first sata port? because the way how this laptop setup I was pissed because I have to take apart half of the laptop before I reach to the hard drives, I didn't really want to mess around the first drive.

What happens when you try to install windows 7 on the drive? If it can't copy install files over then its most likely bad ram.

John, I try to install window 7 clean on this drive. It crash multiple times. right now I try again, it crash few times and go through eventually, now I try to install the video driver, it restarted after I leave it to get some drink. I don't now if it restart by the installation or crash. now it stuck on windows start screen, The drive light come on solid sometime and blink sometime. it gone for about 10 minutes now.
Do you think there are some bad ram in there? is there any utility program I can try to test the drive?
Thank you.
paul

You might want to scan your drive using hddscan.

This doesn't sound like a memory issue since you explained the issue a little better. Are you running it in ahci mode? Did you change the sata controller setting in the bios?

It come with ahci mode enable, I didn't trouble it. maybe is some ram that is not good? like bad sector? I will try to download the program and scan the drive to see if anything wrong with it.

Scanned with all options except erease, don't seem to find any problem. I even try the microsoft error checking tools, didn't find any problem.
Still can't boot from it.:mad::confused:

I use a different window 7 dvd to install again today, it crash one more time, but finally went through the installation. So now I am using the SSD as my OS drive, yet to install the programs to it. Hope I get the performance that everyone talking about.
Cheers.:D
Paul.
