Is the 256Mb GeForce 6600GT a good card?

its worth paying more and getting the best agp card you can because in a year or less you will have to upgrade again if you buy a budget card
 
Is the XFX GeForce 6800 XTreme XT 256 Mb AGP a budget card?
The ASUS one doesn't mention DX or OpenGL anywhere on it's page... So your saying the ASUS one is better than the 6800 XTreme?
 
The main reason I'm buying a new graphics card is to play the new games, such as BF2, when looking at the list of 'accepted' video cards that BF2 will work with, the GeForce 6800 XTreme isn't there, but the GeForce 6600GT is?

So, now I can't decide between the GeForce 6600GT, GeForce 6800 XTreme and the ASUS N6800/TD/512M - GeForce 6800 512 Mb TV out/DVI AGP...

I really can't decide... Will they all be compatable with the new games...
 
Yeah but why?It doesn't mention DX9 or Open GL and it's not on some of the new games supported chipset list...
 
I wouldn't recommend getting the 6800 XT, since its slashed down to 8 pixel pipelines and the clock is reduced dramatically. A 6600gt wouldn't play the new games today at high, but probably will handle around medium, maybe lower in some games. I would recommend that you get the 6800GS, my friend has it and its a very capable card.

also you gotta spend a decent amount of cash to have a good card to play games really well this card runs them quite smooth its one of the best agps in its class
