Hello people i have seen this card somewhere and i am wondering if it is worth paying all the money for it and if its a good price:D

Not at all. The above 3850 is almost 3 times as capable, for only 20 quid more. Abstaining from such comparisons, the 8600gt is still far too underwhelming to be considered for gaming, IMO. If you aren't gaming, something much less pricey would be acceptable.
 
No i want it for gaming so what do you think of the 8800 or don't you think geforce is the way to go?
 
Geforce, ATI/AMD, whatever. Whichever card holds best performance for money should be the way to go. At this point either the 8800gt 512mb or the 3870/3850 are contenders. The 8800gt is the best performer of the bunch, but it's more expensive, and generally hard to obtain. The 3870 is cheaper, and easier to find, but only gives about 85% the performance of the 8800gt. The 3850 is right behind it's older brother, but can be overclocked to comparable level.

All of the above are strong cards, as such you'd need to make sure no other component will bottleneck them. Less than 2Gb's of RAM and a dual core would be a waste on them, but the 3850 is cheap and powerful.. It's my recommendation if your system is less than optimum
 
Well i will be getting a stick of 4GB ram and hoping to get an intel core 2 quad i just help on choosing a motherboard if you would like to reply to my thread
 
Sure. Well in that case, an 8800gt or a 3870 would be wise. I would also advise you to get 2 x 2Gb instead of 1 x 4Gb stick, not least because you can then run them in dual channel. Make sure you have a 64bit OS to take full advantage of those 4Gb's as well..
 
The memory address space of a 64bit operating system allows for full use of 4+ Gb's of system memory. If you were to use a 32bit OS with 4Gb's of RAM, you would probably only see 3.2-3.4Gb's of it.
