Is the dark web illegal?

Not trying to get kicked off...

My friend told me about something called the "dark web," and I looked it up on Wikipedia and it told me a browser to download to access it. I haven't done this and not sure I want to.

I know there are some illegal things on there, and I wouldn't access any of that stuff.... but is accessing the dark web in itself illegal?

Is it worth anybodies time?
 
Accessing the dark Web itself is not illegal but I definitely advise against visiting it.

How dark? I am worried about accidentally visiting something that would land me in jail.

But even if that doesn't happen.... what would I expect to find on there? Can you save me the visit?

Does visiting it open me up to a bunch of viruses and malware?

Would my ISP not like me visiting it?

Well, if you want to be on a dark web, but not get viruses and stuff, go to the deep web! its like the dark web, but safer. But be careful! im not responsible for anything you do to ur self!

Go to google chrome web store, and add browsec to chrome, than cllick the icon, and click the protect me button.

than, go to google and type in:

Intel Exchange"

And, click the .onion link on top.

If I download Tor and get on there, how does it work? Go I type in Google.com? Google.onion? Is any illegal things going to jump right out at me so I don't have a chance not to look at them? I am not looking to get in trouble here.
 
Should I make sure my virus protection is fully up to date before entering the dark web?

I have Avast. How can I show it to you guys to make sure it's fully installed and working correctly?

Also, can I just type in .onion on a regular browser and have the dark net like that?

What is the dark webs version of Google? What web site should I go to to start browsing?

I downloaded Tor and did a search on the page that it brings up when you start... and it just does a Google search. What am I doing wrong? Where's all the .onion stuff?

All you need to do is open the user interface, click on settings, click on the update section on the left and it will tell you if what database version its running along with what program version and if its needs updating.

you never know what your going to see with tor.

TOR is just a relay network. If you use it to go to Google.com you'll go to Google.com.

deep web and dark web pages use things .Onion domains. They aren't indexed by crawlers such as Google and Bing. You can Google different ones to visit that people post about online, but even I won't visit any of them.
