Is the GeForce GTS 240 available anymore?

I'm considering switching from the GTS 250 to the 9800GT in the hopes that the fan noise will be quieter (and more like it was with my 8800GT), but I'm reading up on the different models and it appears that the GTS 240 is an improved 9800GT. The only problem is I can't find it anywhere.

Nvidia's website lists it as available only in pre-built systems. Does this mean it can't be ordered by itself? Newegg and TigerDirect don't have it listed, nor does Amazon or even EVGA's website.

(There is a GT 240, but this isn't the same thing.)

would you be comfortable with replacing the stock heatsink and fan?

You would have to check compatibility with your gpu, but that should quiet it down.

No, I don't think I'd want to mess with that. My 8800GT really made no noise at all, and I hear everything so I would have noticed. Hopefully the 9800GT is the same, since it basically *is* the exact same card as the 8800GT. I'm guessing the GTS 250 is a little louder because it's bigger and has higher clock speeds.

I'm pretty sure there is a GTS 240, but if there is, you can't buy it anywhere. You might be able to find one on ebay, but that's it.
