Is there a 100.00 difference in performance between these two cpu's?

AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60(2.00GHz)

and

Intel Core 2 Duo T7500(2.20GHz)

I ask because the laptop with the c2d is 100.00 less than the laptop with the Turion, otherwise the same laptop.

Worth spending the extra 100.00?

I think so because my T7500 hauls.... It feels just like my E6850... And since we are talking about mobile, you may wanna get the T7500 because it is more efficient when it comes to power..

i looked at benchmarks on the T7500 and the TL-56 which is the 1.8 version of the one you have up there.and theres a decently big difference between them in favour of the intel.. also im much more a fan of intel. but i have to say i would go the amd. i dont reckon the intel is work 100 bucks more

ETSA, I will say it this way(bad rhyme), my battery time is about 3.5 hours when I am gaming, doing office work, Photoshopping, etc.

That one's CPU is the T5750, it's 2MB Cache and 667Mhz FSB, same clock as the T7250 just the lower FSB but with a higher multiplier...

I like my 8600M GT... Dell + Drivers = Pain, I finally got it sorted though. It runs quite well... I can't quote FPS from CS:S, TF2, or anything, I've never paid attention. But I usually run medium settings with no difficulty.

T7500 is faster than any Turion processor

And there is a huge difference in terms of performance between T7500 and the Turion X2 TL-60

I would go with T7500

The intel laptop cost only %10 more but it will give you much more than 10% performance increase

HDD size is different, and the more expensive one has a fingerprint reader. Maybe there are other differences too.

Will it really help all that much with applications and gaming, enough to justify the extra expense?

I know what you mean, but no, honestly if I was in your shoes I wouldn't spend that extra money on the Intel. The AMD system will complement that video card fine in games, and you get 40GB more storage space as well (and .5lbs lighter).
