Is there a board that has quad pci-e, i dont want sli

I can't seem to find any. All i can find is sli or crossfire boards. But i decided sli is a waste of money for me.

So do you guys know any boards that have quad pci-e 2.0 slots?

To work with geforce cards

why do you want 4 PCI-E slots? 4 is just pointless and a waste of money. there aint no point getting a board with 4 slot unless you going to have 7 or 8 screens which is just going over the top.

How about 3 pci-e board but not sli
 
the Gigabyte GA-8N SLI Quad Royal has 4. use google, it's your best friend.
If a motherboard says its SLI and you dont SLI your GPU's, is doesn't matter, the cards will still work independently.
there are loads of board that have 3 slots, 680i, 780i, 790i, DFI LANPARTY DK 790FX-M2RS, ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe to name a few.
 
That gigabyte motherboard isn't compatiable with a intel core 2 quad :(

i looked at the 780i 790i but they are all sli. I figured i could save a bit of money if i buy one without sli

Does this mean im stuck with a sli motherboard?
 
Basicly. You don't have to SLI or xfire the cards if it is a SLI/xfire motherboard. I doubt you will find one that has 4 pci-e slots and not SLI/xfire compatible.

thats what makes me mad, why should i have to pay for a sli compatiable motherboard if im never going to use it!

what about a 3 pci-e non sli, i take it they dont make those either?
 
Either way, they will cost the same. Just wondering, you seem extremely concerned about price but if you are buying 4 video cards then I don't see why it is such an issue. And if you need 8 monitors then you are probably going to be running some intensive applications so you are most likely going to go balls out of the CPU. So why is price such an issue?

He needs 8 monitors and on his previous post he said two of them are just for running messenger programs... yeah he's a real multi-tasker :rolleyes:
 
Well, i can live with 6 screens, 8 was just something to keep in mind for the future.

But i already have a 8600 gts, and if i pick up some 3 cheap 128mb pci-e i think i'll be fine

I just didn't wanna pay for sli when ill never use it

As said before, an SLI board doesn't mean you have to run SLI if you use more than 1 slot. And you aren't necessarily paying for SLI on an SLI motherboard. Chipsets that support SLI generally are high end boards have more features associated with them which drives the price up.
 
you could buy a video splitter, you can get some that go through the usb port also, so you could get four off just the 8600, then another four off usb

With a splitter you would have to mirror whatever was on both ports to two screens, it would not be four independent screens.
 
I'm already using a usb thing. I don't like them. I prefer video cards

The problem is im debating weather to get another desktop for the photoshop and dreamweaver because thats what slows my computer now.

But i would REALLY LOVE one computer to run all this.

That is my dream!

I'm thinking of getting an i7 or a core 2 quad

But my total came up to $1800

I'm willing to spend alot of money as long as it works

but im not sure if an i7 can handle all this
